Studies
She graduated from the Athens School of Philosophy (Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies) in 1985. Her dissertation entitled “Cultures maraîchères dans la Méditerranée. Les transformations de la plaine et de la société argoliques, 1860-1910” was prepared in the period 1991-1995, at the European University of Florence, where she was awarded the Doctor’s degree in History in 1995.
Research – professional activity
-She participated in the classification of the Municipal Archive of Ermoupolis in 1981, 1982 and 1985.
-She worked at the National Bank History Archive, 1983 -1991 and 1995 -2003.
-In 1986, she classified the material of the Archive of the Court of Audit concerning the concessions of national land during the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries and drew up the corresponding index.
-She worked as a researcher at the Department of History and Culture, European University of Florence, 1991 - 1994. The following were among the research programmes she worked on: “Vie et mort des bassins industriels”, “L’ industrie du zinc au XIXe siècle” and “L’ Europe des minorités”.
-She taught History of Modern Times, at the Department of History and Archaeology, University of Crete, 1997 -1999. In 2001, she taught Modern European History, at the Department of Social Anthropology, University of the Aegean.
-After taking a scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999, she studied the Spanish archives for her research concerning Spanish historiography. During her stay in Spain, she cooperated with the Higher Council of Scientific Research (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) and, more specifically, with the Institute of History, Center of Humanitarian Studies.
-In 2003, she undertook the research programme of KEINE (Research Center of the History of Modern Hellenism), which was under way since the 60s, for the publication of the Foreign Office General Correspondence in epitomes (F.O.32, Greece). Volume E, covering the period 1840-1841 and compiled with the participation of Messrs Philippos Glytsis (†) and Christos Lukos, collaborators of the Research Center, was published in 2006 under her editorship.
- She has been teaching History at the Postgraduate programme of the Department of History and Political Science, Panteion University since 2005.
-She has been a member of the society Seminario de Historia Agraria (SEHA) and member of the editorial committee of the magazine Noticiario de Historia Agraria since 1993.
Her research interests are related to agricultural history, Spanish historiography and the history of crime.
