He was born in Athens in 1982. Graduate of the Department of Philosophy - Education and Psychology (2004) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds two master degrees, one in “Teaching Modern Greek as a Foreign Language” (2008) and one in “Fokloristics” (2013) from the same University. In 2019 he was awarded a Doctorate from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens, Department of Philology, defending a dissertation on: “The proverbial discourse of the Balkan peoples. Themes – Uses – Interpretations – Communication. A contribution to Comparative Folkloristics”, under the supervision of Mrs. Marianthi Kaplanoglou.
Since 2006 he has been teaching in public Secondary Education, while in 2021 he was elected Associate Researcher at the Hellenic Folklore Research Centre of the Academy of Athens in the field of “Folk narrative research”. As part of his service in Secondary Education, he organized a number of educational programs of linguistic, historical and folklore interest, while during the period 2013-2018 he supervised the internship of students, undergraduate and postgraduate, from the Departments of Philology, History and Archeology and Philosophy – Education and Psychology of the University of Athens.
During the academic years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 he collaborated with the University of Peloponnese, where he taught the course "Folklore - Popular Byzantine Literature" (in collaboration with Mrs. Karavia), within the Postgraduate Program "Byzantine World: Its Relationship with Antiquity and Modern Hellenism" (Department of Philology - Research Institute of Byzantine Culture).
From the academic year 2021-2022 he collaborates with the Postgraduate Program "Folklore and Literature - Georgios A. Megas" of the Department of Philology of the University of Athens, where he teaches the course "The teaching of folklore at school. The concept of Ethnography - School Ethnography ".
His doctoral studies turned his interest to the folklore genre of the proverb. He regularly participates in the annual proverb colloquium (2015, 2017, 2019, 2021), while he also collaborates with the Yearbook of International Proverb Scholarship Proverbium.
He is a member of the Hellenic Folklore Society and the International Association of Paremiology (Tavira - Portugal).
He speaks English, Albanian, Bulgarian and Turkish.
