Biographical note

 

EDUCATION

• 2014: PhD in History and Philosophy of Sciences and Technology, National Kapodistrian University of Athens & National Technical University of Athens (Thesis title: The First Principles of the Sensible World in Plato’s Philosophy).

• Oct. 2009 – Jun. 2010: Recognized Student at the University of Oxford, Department of Philosophy.

• 2006: Master of History and Philosophy of Sciences and Technology, National Kapodistrian University of Athens & National Technical University of Athens.

• 2003: Bachelor of History and Archaeology, University of Ioannina.

 

HONORS / SCHOLARSHIPS

• 2015: Best Thesis Prize in Philosophy in Modern Greek for the years 2013 and 2014 (John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, and Critica: A Greek Online Journal for Philosophical Reviews).

• 2008-2011: 3-year PhD research Scholarship (National Technical University of Athens).

 

PROJECTS

• 2023: ‘Learn Aristotelian Logic’: The project is led by Researcher Thanassis Gkatzaras from the Research Centre for Greek Philosophy (RCGP) at the Academy of Athens and Prof. Phoebe Koundouri from the Athens University of Economics and Business. The software is designed by Thanassis Gkatzaras (collaborating members: Director of Research Doukas Kapantais, acting Director of the RCGP, and emeritus Director of Research Maria Protopapa, former Director of the RCGP)  and developed by Webelous.com. Its academic material is based on the project  PRAN (Aristotle’s Prior Analytics) led by Doukas Kapantais and Assoc. Prof. George Karamanolis (University of Vienna). It is funded by the ERC Water Futures Project at the Athens University of Economics and Business (Principal Investigator: Prof. Phoebe Koundouri). The software is hosted by “Athena” Research Center.

 

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

• 2014 – : Research Assistant in the Project ‘Aristotle’s Prior Analytics A’ (PRAN), Research Centre for Greek Philosophy, Academy of Athens (Project Leaders: Doukas Kapantais, Research Director and acting Director of the Research Centre for Greek Philosophy at the Academy of Athens and Assoc. Prof. George Karamanolis, University of Vienna).

• 2017 – : Research Assistant in the Project ‘The Fragments of Cleanthes the Stoic’, Research Centre for Greek Philosophy, Academy of Athens (Project Leader: Maria Protopapa, emeritus Researcher and former Director of the Research Centre for Greek Philosophy at the Academy of Athens).

• 2007 – 2009: Research Assistant in the Project ‘The Problems of Geometrical Entities and Geometrical Foundation: Examining their Appearance and Influence in the Euclidian Geometrical Optics Model’, National & Technical University of Athens (Project Leader: emeritus Prof. V. Karasmanis, N.T.U.A.).
